Virginia Boys State – for 11th grade boys

June 17-23, 2018 at Radford University

Are you interested in being a delegate to BOYS STATE OF VIRGINIA?  The American Legion will sponsor two boys (between Herndon and South Lakes High Schools, not necessarily 1 from each school) to attend Boys State.   The young men attending Boys State will study Virginia government and are divided into political cities, each electing its own governing officers, as well as representatives to the Boys State legislature.  Two fictional political parties nominate candidates for state elections of governor, etc.  Participants will study government at the state and local level as well as participate in recreational and extracurricular activities.    Applications are available in the Career Center and are due to Mrs. Peirce  by April 10, 2018
