Access & Opportunity End of Year SMARTR Outcome

By June 2022, we will increase enrollment of our Hispanic population in honors classes by 20%.

Strategy 1

Identify students who will be successful in an advanced class and challenge them to sign up for an honors class during academic advising.

Strategy 2

Provide sessions to learn about the benefits of honors classes to our target population.

Strategy 3

Gather data/information from teachers and current honors students to help increase enrollment in honors classes and implement appropriate support for first-time honors students.

Strategy 4

Increase use of literacy and engagement strategies to support all students across all disciplines.

Dropout Rate End of Year SMARTR Outcome

By the end of the 2021-22 school year, Herndon High School’s dropout rate will be reduced by 10%.

Strategy 1

School staff will work on an individual student level to ensure that students have access to personalized support.

Strategy 2

School staff will work collaboratively to analyze data and develop systems in order to identify students at risk of dropping out as early as possible and ensure a smooth transition to alternative education programs.
