Approximately 80-90 college/university admission representatives from all over the country will visit Herndon HS this Fall. Learn how you can attend one of those visits as an 11th or 12th grader. This information is updated weekly.

Important Information for Athletes
All paperwork required for winter athletics MUST be turned in no later than the close of business on Monday, November 1, 2021. We are also accepting paperwork for spring sports- you cannot participate in off-season workouts without having these things done!
College App Lab
Twice a week, school counselors and the College & Career Specialist will be available to help seniors work on their college applications (including NOVA), personal statements, scholarship research, and answer any questions they may have.

World Languages Credit Exam
The 2021 World Languages Credit Exam will be administered on November 16, 17 and 18, 2021. Registration opens on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. and closes on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 4:00 p.m.

Approximately 16,000 high school seniors across the US were named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists for 2022. More than 1.5 million juniors entered the 2022 National Merit program by taking the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which serves as the initial screen of program entrants.
FCPS to Require Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination for Athletic Participation
Beginning November 8, FCPS will require proof of full COVID-19 vaccination for any student participating in Virginia High School League (VHSL) winter and spring sports for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year. Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination will also be required for participation in any other activity that requires a physical. This includes dance team and step team, as well as out-of-season practices and workouts.

Anticipated Bus Delays
Due to the bus driver shortage, we will be increasing “double back” bus runs, meaning a bus is required to run two scheduled routes back to back that would normally have been covered by two separate buses. These “double backs” may impact delivery time to schools or bus stops and may have a domino effect, affecting after-school drop-off times.
