The Herndon Orchestra program was awarded a $5000 Wolf Trap Grant and we will be bringing in bassist Xavier Foley for an artist residency!  Xavier is an up and coming bassist and composer.  The first event is a bass masterclass on Wednesday, March 9^th.  In this specific masterclass, local high school bass players will perform for Xavier and he will work with them after their performance. Herndon’s very own Aakash Natajaran will be one of the students performing! The second event is a bass recital by Xavier on Thursday, March 10^th.  He will perform for the audience and talk about the pieces he will play, including his own compositions.  Both events are at 7pm in the auditorium and are free to the public.  We are very fortunate to have Xavier come in as he usually performs with professional ensembles and works with students at summer music intensives and festivals.
