Herndon High School's Black History Month celebration was a vibrant and educational experience, fostering learning and unity throughout our community. Students from ELT, BAE, and the Leadership Team initiated daily announcements, sharing impactful stories of African Americans in the labor field in both English and Spanish, while captivating posters and a comprehensive PowerPoint further illuminated significant contributions. Our inaugural African American Read-In Day, made possible by the dedication of Mrs. Wolf and Duggan, promoted literacy and engagement with Black literature. The Discovery Summit, featuring Black History trivia and a screening of "Remember the Titans," provided engaging learning opportunities, highlighting local history. Cultural Day showcased the rich diversity of our staff, and the month culminated in a delicious luncheon prepared by Chef Smith and the NJROTC Sous Chefs. These events collectively honored Black history and culture, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation within our school community.
