Virtual Curriculum Fair
To assist students with selecting their courses for next year we have created a Virtual Curriculum Fair. On this site students and families will have access to videos, brochures, and materials on all of Herndon’s core, elective, and advanced academic courses.
Academic Advising and Course Selection 2022-23
During January, February and March Herndon’s school counselors will meet with all rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students for academic advising and course selection.

Inclement Weather Virtual Learning
As we prepare to observe the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, we are also monitoring the forecast, which indicates the chance for inclement weather Sunday and Monday. Please take a few minutes before the weekend to prepare for the possibility of an inclement weather virtual learning day.
Attend a Town Hall - Superintendent Search
Please attend a virtual Superintendent Search Town Hall, with sessions hosted on Wednesday, January 12; Thursday, January 13; and Tuesday, January 18. You'll be able to provide feedback on the characteristics and personality traits you would like to see in the new superintendent.
Reminder: the attendance office can record a planned absence up to 3 days before the absence.
Virtual College Week
This year, FCPS will host a Virtual College Week from Monday, October 19 to Friday, October 23, 2020. This event will feature two live virtual sessions each evening starting at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. During these sessions, FCPS students and families will be provided an opportunity to meet virtually with subject-matter experts and ask questions about college admissions, standardized testing, financial aid, and postsecondary planning. Students and their families must register to attend any of the sessions. Complete information is available.
Unvaccinated Athletes Register for COVID testing
All high school student-athletes participating in FCPS athletic programming who are not fully vaccinated between the ages of 12-15 or between the ages of 16-18 with a medical or religious exemption will be required to submit negative COVID-19 test results to the Director of Student Activities at the school on a weekly basis in order to participate in sports for school year 2021-2022.
